#ArmTheChild; Summer School for IDPs
Illiteracy affects all facets of the society leading to a stagnant or backward movement in the country’s developmental curve. Illiteracy keeps people chained to ignorance, slavery, inaction and exploitation in a number of ways. For example, an individual might refuse medical care because of faith in a clergy. In line with the above listed effects of illiteracy we have partnered with Evergreen initiative and Arm the child project and we devised a plan to reduce and further eradicate the problems of illiteracy in our great country Nigeria with a well-planned and fine-tuned scheme called “Arm the child project”. The Arm the child project is specifically designed for less privileged and vulnerable children, we plan to provide them with quality education (formal and informal) at no cost. We carried out a survey on the 14th February 2017 and it was realized that in most cases children who are illiterate is as a result of lack of financial capacity to enrol in schools and in some cases there is not availability of proper learning facilities. The “Arm the child project” seeks to provide a solution to these key problems and many others.
